WELLINGTON NEW ZEALAND, 16 MAY 2022 – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company and leading provider of hotel management services with approximately 9,000 hotels across nearly 95 countries, continues to expand its portfolio in Australasia, announcing the region’s first Microtel by Wyndham hotel to be opened in Wellington, New Zealand during the second quarter of the year.
Microtel by Wyndham Wellington Central will be situated on Vivian Street, within walking distance to the city’s key attractions. The hotel’s location is perfect for business travelers who can expect the easy convenience of being set in the heart of the city’s central business district. With every detail considered at every touchpoint, the hotel will ensure an efficient and productive stay.
Microtel Wellington will leverage Wyndham Hotels & Resorts' global partnership with Oracle Hospitality, through the installation and use of Opera Cloud as its Property Management System. Opera Cloud affords a direct two-way interface with Wyndham’s Central Reservation System. Through this, the hotel plans to enable key technology enhancements including the use of an interactive lobby and the ability to offer contactless arrival experiences through mobile check-in and keyless entry. For casual breakfast, lunch, or a drink, the hotel’s café, and bar will provide a funky backdrop while guests enjoy their morning coffee and pastry, lunchtime snack, or cocktail, with a video wall to keep guests entertained.
Guests who are visiting for leisure are just a stone’s throw away from a plethora of casual and fine-dining restaurants, showcasing local produce in the city’s renowned cultural center - Cuba Street.
